The meeting was called to order at 7:05

Motion to accept the August minutes (KM/PF motion and second) motion passed.

Kathy Messier presented the Treasurer’s Report. Motion to accept (PF/KK motion and second) motion passed.

Director’s Report:  2013 patrons visited the library this month with over 1200 items checked out or renewed. Story hour had 100 children and 67 adults attending this month, and other usual programs continue with good numbers. In addition to regular programs, the end of our Summer Reading had 20 in attendance and 14 children and 12 adults enjoyed Fireside Stories.  Our Vermont Wildlife Show had 110 attending!

Director’s Priorities: Overdue/lost books policy, Maker Space operating procedures/staffing, NELA Conference in October, my schedule.

Board Issues: As we have gone to direct deposit for staff salaries, Michelle will now be signing pay checks through the ACH procedures.
Budget review shows little increase this year other than what is necessary for salary increase. This does include the amount that the town approved last year to increase our Children’s Librarian from part time to full time.
In previous meetings, it looked as if we needed to move from Library World to VERSO, this is no longer necessary as Library World is now updated and interfaces with the state.

Upcoming Events: The author visit from Mariana Cohen, author of  The Inn Between  is all set and grades 5 and 6 from Swanton Elementary School will be attending. Paranormal Investigators of New England will be here at the library on September 29th at 7 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:35.

The Next scheduled Board meeting is  October 8, 2017.

Respectfully Submitted,
Kathy Kneebone, Secretary
