A Special Meeting of the Swanton Public Library Board of Trustees was held on Friday, November 30, 2018. In attendance at the meeting were:
Rebecca Rupp, Chairman
Kathy Kneebone, Secretary
Sarah Tanner, Trustee
Kathy Messier, Treasurer (phone)
Ron Kilburn, Trustee
- Call to order at 4:32
- At 4:35 a Motion to enter Executive Session to discuss personnel issues and the hiring of a Library Director. KK/RK (motion/second) Motion passed.
- At 4:38 Rebecca Rupp is excused for the board to discuss personnel issues and the hiring of a Library Director.
- Motion to hire Caleb Rupp for the position of Library Director, KK/ST (motion/second) Motion Passed.
- Discussion of time for Caleb to respond is 48 hours. If he refuses, the position will be offered to Sarah Allerton.
- At 4:49 Motion to exit Executive Session ST/KK (motion/second) Motion Passed.
- The library had two qualified candidates for the position of the Library Director. The board voted, and a sufficient number of votes from the board were made to consider Caleb Rupp the winner.
- It has been found that due to the conflict of interest with Caleb being the son of Rebecca Rupp, that any issue taken with Caleb will be addressed by other board members.
- With no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:53.
